hello people i hate to be annoying but ive decided to make a new shiny blog somewhere else http://tomsamazingadventures.blogspot.com/ if it looks similar to heathers its cause i stole a bit of her html code. well 'borrowed' and 'took inspiration from' which is the PC version of theft nowadays. hey if big business can do it then i can!
today i discovered a lovely virus on my computer so i have decided to deal with it in the manner of the guys at work as they are trained and paid professionals. WHAT THE BEEP BEEPING PILE OF BEEP ILL BEEPING RIP THE BEEPING HEAD OF THE BEEPING SON OF A BEEP WHO BEEPING BEEPED THIS UP!!! ARGGHHHHH BEEP BEEP PENCIL BEEP IGUANA BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP MONKEY BEEP! i then should kick the machine a few times, wander around a bit, blame the new guy and have a cup of tea. that should do it :). or i could just install kapersky and let it find out what is up. turns out its the trusty internet explorer microsoft crap which is infected (suprising!) so i have decided to use mozilla fire fix instead as its not as evil and bloated as this accursed microsoft monopolistic empire building piece of junkware. the only reason you need such high speed processors is cos bill has put all little secret love letters to george peppard. sorry heather looks like you have some competition but at least you're HUMAN unlike BILL, who has long since been uploaded to some kind of computerised toaster from where he plans to rule the world. actually that reminds about reading about some guy who consistently tells the world that all celebrities are actually a type of evolved lizard (possibly from outer space, i cant remeber) and they actually rule the world and control us. i think thats why they are all such FREAKS but not as much as the lonely lonely sad demented stupid irritating possilby homeless guys who sit in front of their computers and code stupid virus's while looking at naked ladies dot com or some thing equally LAME like that. i shouldnt really be talking like this about my fellow human beings but it just evades my grasp why people with an obvious skill at something go out of their way to make other peoples lives a hassle. ok yeah i am human and i am spiteful and take my revenge sometimes (and i wish i didnt but we are a flawed people) but i cant understand why you would do it to people you've never met?? and you wont see the results of your actions like some other stupid childish prank so i cant see any satisfacction there. and how much effort must it take??? WHATS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE????? pfff. i suppose you could say its against bill and his evil empire (there are no where near as many virus's for linux or mac os's) but like its hurting the users more than him so why dont people stop? having said that i am considering installing linux again but i cant run cubase or my recording desk on it so i would be a bit stuck. so my options so far are to swear and kick the computer, use anti virus, switch to linux or stuff pc's and play on my mega drive. SONIC HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!! my pc is clean now so dont worry about talking to me on messenger or something, i think it was one of those stupid pop ups that appear for no apparent reason, it looks like it downloads itself from the page in the html code. sneaky. it was a trojan for internet explorer 5 so if you've updating in the past 2 years you'll be fine, alas i am too lazy and am going to use mozilla from now on.
boring day. well it was ok i guess but im bored now and now is now so like it was boring or at least my impatient nature is telling me it was. actually thats a cool guitar bit and the woo woo woos are cool. but music isnt that important really, i just like it. whatever that means. hmm i really dont have anything to say apart from im dull :) notepad of the day : random pad shaped like dougal from the magic roundabout thats on my desk. ive never watched or liked the magic roundabout. why do i have a pad shaped like the dog??? quite like it tho. must of been a present off some kind of 'friend', the kind that you dont really like but they are family friends from tradition and blah blah blah. ill be quiet now.
Wed, Jun. 30th, 2004, 10:14 am results!!
wooo today thru the post i recieved my a level results!!! they are nice and shiny and pretty looking especially the edexcel one. the wierd thing is that i did them last year. and im not sure why they have arrived now. but you know its nice i guess, although a bit confusing cos i had only just woken up. i may decide to go thru ucas and choose a university as thats what most people do. but seeing as im ALREADY AT ONE there doesnt seem to be much point. hmm this is tom slightly bemused and looking for a bit of an adaptor for my synth. bye wow theres a spell check and apparently the way i spell weird is wierd. hmm i hate i before e except after c, i always get it wrong. pants wooo woo, Wood, wood, woof, wool, woos, whoop, wop, wooer recieved received ah no i did it again.. drat and double drat. no thats spelt wrong! nooooo ARGH why do you torment me so spell checker??? WHY CANT YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE??!?!?!?!?!? it kinda makes you afraid to write anything in case its spelt wrong, ist really quite intimidating and it gives you so many different words in case you are really really really reely stoopid when spieling. yes missisipi! damn missisipi! it might be right. someone else tell me apart from HIM. him being the evil spell checker :@
hmmm if i was complaining about lack of stuff to do early then im going to complain of being too busy now! nah its been cool but im a little sleepy now and the madness is starting to set in (welcome to the house of fun, we hope you enjoy your stay) but im still fairly coherent so ill continue. stayed up til stupid o clock on this contraption some people like to call a computer talking to ms elias and forgot to go to bed. doh. friday went up to kingston with mikey C and his cousin tagged along and douglas was going to come along as well but he arrived late and then refused to leave until ghostbusters had finished on the tv. we walked out and caught the bus but he didnt. and we didnt see him for the rest of the day :S oh well. i kinda spent too much money on stupid stuff (read as computer games) but it was ok. i have vowed not to buy anything apart from clothes and records for the next two months :D. In the evening shane was like cmon lets go somewhere so it was like argh.... caught the bus down to richmond and went and bought milkshakes and bottles of water and went and sat on a bench and yabbered away about anything and everything for a good 2 hours or so. walked around a bit and talked some more, found another bench and talked some MORE and it was like ah man my jaw is falling off. got back into hounslow about eleven and then kinda forgot to go to bed again.... whoops so like this morning rolls round and shanes like hey lets go to kingston! it took me a while but i managed to convey the fact i didnt want to spend money and i had the conversational level of an octopus. or a polictian. the main difference is you can trust an octopus and they dont wear suits or wigs (i knew it! you want to use my wig guy). sorry off point! tho i dont think there was one...erm oh yeah i didnt go cos i was knackered and i wanted to bum around and play on my mega drive :D sonic 2 is amazing, the music ... ahh man so cool. truly a genuis moment in the history of electronic things was sonic 2. sorry! easily distracted. yeah i then finally went in the shower at 4 or so (lazy boy) and went over to the house of kiwi (or shane as some people call him) and watched starsky and hutch :D that was fun, especially the hair. dig the hair man. radical to the max i do believe old boy. also i love the green suit. thats style man. rad. and the CAR how cool was the car. not as cool as a brown skoda with go faster stripes but hey i love box cars. dont want any of these curvy cars its all about box cars as far as im concerned. also katie has just said this gem Katie says: shouldnt be listenin to flashdance soundtrack hee hee point and laugh people, point and laugh. flash dance is kinda like flashback which is a game a lot of people rave about, might give it a try hmmm. SORRY OFF THE POINT AGAIN!! yeah so after starsky and hutch it was time to hunt for some food but there was none at his house so we came here and cooked some food and then watched touching the void. really intense film, kept me totally immersed all the way thru. not really sure if i enojyed it but it definately kept me interested. whats more amazing is that its a true story and the film was a documentary. theres no way a story that bizarre could be thought of, reality is often stranger than fiction but it is still an unbelievable story. the way the guy who fell over 150 feet through an ice sheet into a 120 foot deep cervasse after breaking his leg some 2000+ feet higher is scary tho. he then climbed down across a thin layer of ice and snow and up the crevasse/ crawled 4 or 5 miles across a glacier with his lower leg bone thru his knee and then over rocks and finally he looses it and starts getting boney M stuck in his head. he then crawls thru the latrine section of his camp site and calls out. the coldness and machine like monotone voice and attitude is prosbably what saved him but i dont think i could admire coldness as a personality trait but thats harsh of me to say that, i couldnt of coped with what happened to him it is a testament to his willpower that he was there to even say it. i dunno it was a gripping film but i found him quite a scary person by the end of it. reccomended but i dont think its everyones film, wasnt really entertaining but it kept me glued to it. oh well another installment in the rather uninteresting life of tom but its alright i guess/ not much else to do apart from live it i guess. on that pretentious note ill stop. its taken me 4 albums to write this which is about 30 mins each cos im a skipper! hmm disscussion about school.... not much to remeber there im afraid. night!
i feel that i have painted a rather bad picture of today and it hasnt been that bad so i thought i would redeem it in yours eyes readers as the day has picked up after writing the previous entry. i rang up steve at the mill again and i have my summer job sorted again. last year there was a specific job i could do and at easter i was in to help out but there wasnt much on. so this time ive said when theres something i can do tell me and ill be in within 2 days. so im in the odd day here and there (40 quid a day) for the rest of the summer. so provided i dont go anywhere for a long period of time its sorted! free time AND some money. well it depends how often im in i suppose, they arent very organised but its all good. there should be some stuff on the cards, well there must be SOMETHING. erm what else what else oh yeah the tennis! venus williams goes out to an unseeded player, and the umpire gives one of the players an extra point when she faulted?? madness! will be in the papers/news i reckon. you heard it here first tho. what else is cool? erm i spoke to liz and becky on this interweb contraption that was quite amusing and liz has given me some advice on how to deal with the fact ive lost my keys 1)check they're not at elisa's (in nottingham)??? and 2) use the cat flap thanks liz. it helps. really i have actually lost my house keys :( so if anyones got them could i have them back please :) err shanes past his first year at surrey with 67.6% WOOO go shane but hes spent the day modelling lighting in offices in wembley stadium which sounds thrilling. nah its kinda cool i guess working on wembley bob's looking like hes working at cartoon network after his interview so thats cool (but he is about to loose at minesweeper flags so its not all good for him). i think thats all the positive stuff. mikey has discovered some miami vice sunglasses and looked a bit like a pimp with his haircut last night going to kingston two days in a row which is a bit stupid but its with different people so its allowed! its still a bit stupid but there is a reason. anyway im going to try and not assume that the chance of work means i have a disposable income (cos it doesnt) and try and not spend money! anyway goodbye whoever reads this. have emma and elisa discovered the joys of this strange interweb device?
Thu, Jun. 24th, 2004, 02:18 pm dates
upcoming dates for gigs of various quality july 3rd the message at maswell july the 27th the waiting at maswell july the 30th the waiting at maswell also next thursday lawrence's metal band are playing the peel down in kingston. sounds a bit scary but might be a laugh, also the peel is a pretty good venue, that and the grey horse are probably THE two places to play in kingston. we were having a go at the stuff for the 3rd of july last night and it was sounding pretty good actually, came together quite nicely (and quickly). we're playing seven songs for that (as the house band) and theres some dude playing some acoustic stuff to start and someone giving a talk afterwards. not much going on here tho, slow day again. just watching a bit of greg and twiddling my thumbs really. quite tired as well.. its probably this music its a bit boring and sleep inducing, much like complicated maths and terry wogan. anway the site about traffic cones is pretty amazing. i reccomend it. recieved a nice birthday card as well. about my death. and no one noticing. it was nice.
wow this looks quite exciting now :D only problem is that it took quite a long time and a good few kicks to make it work, nah it was easy just pressing lotsa buttons which i like :) not sure what they all did but it was fun! anyway im burning tea and packing up music gear but i hope someone/anyone enjoys the colours. wanted to put more links in tho. hmm glue of the day : pritt stick
argh this morning has to be one of the most annoying mornings in recent times! first of all its raining and secondly im waiting for a parcel/parcels to arrive so i cant do anything other than bum around! its not fair but to be honest i dont think the post will come toady as its half 11 already and im very annoyed. my sister is expecting a parcel and so ive been told to wait BUT THERES NOTHING argh. hmm shes back now so im somewhat more free to go somewhere or at the very least go and have a shower! i swear ive written at least two blog entries between this one and the last one but they seem to have gotten lost somewhere on the internet, much like heather does on msn. havent really done anything since sunday actually, i dont think ive left the house :(. i wanna go somewhere but everyones busy and i shouldnt spend any money and its not like theres a hill i go up or anything so im a bit stuck! oh yeah and im waiting for a phone call from work to see if i am working or not, i hope i am. actually i kinda need to so i can buy some stuff. also to pay off what i bought on ebay. bad tom, bad. music practice over at mikeys tonight! theres an outreach/worship kinda thing happening in july that we need to practice for so that should be good. i think its 5 of us playing, me, ian, ant, mikey and lawrence so it should be fun and something to do! anywho hope everyones doing okay im off to erm. . er... yeah im off bye! lettuce of the day : iceberg
Mon, Jun. 21st, 2004, 01:38 am i feel elderly
dear diary. i feel old. yay. phrase of the night: i am 19 you know (so obviously i am mature and sensible and moths go towards light because they are afraid of the dark)
wow how great are the manics, everything must go is a wonderful album in places but there are a few duff songs (the girl who wanted to be god especially). i was going to update this yesterday but someone sent me a link in messenger and wiped all the writing! oh well never mind. i feel like ive wasted the past few days cos i havent done anything of note but im feeling a little more optimistic today (which is good) i was still on edge a bit from ending exams and then like the fairly mad week and weekend before coming home were amazing but knackering. i think i just need to adjust the slower pace and i was a bit fed up and bored. oh well. didnt go to the morning service today but my dad is leaving for new york in a couple of hours and its my birthday tomorrow so i thought i should spend time with my family instead of going to church today. we've been playing around with itunes today and have managed to share our music across all the computers which is kinda cool. probably sounds geeky to the not so computery people and fairly lame and old hat to the computery people but i dont care, i think its cool (so there!). speaking of being a geek in 13 mintues i will have bought a mega drive off ebay for £2.71 which i think is pretty amazing seeing how sonic the hedgehog is great! just been on the dog an bone to my nana about that crazy walk we did up the hill :D that was so much fun even tho it was in merthyr OOHHH you sneaky someones just put 8 pound on my megadrive with 7 mins to go. so annoying when people do that. hmm sorry yeah that hill was fun, and driving aimlessly around wales and playing uno. hmm if that doesnt sound amazing to you then im afraid you're just not cool. sorry but you have to draw a line somwhere. anyway im going to go have some sandwiches and etc. have a good day readers see you on the morrow maybe. website of the day/year! its amazing www.talklikeapirate.com oo0 arr ye be surfing there now ye scurvy dogs arr matey OH YOU SNEAKY argh its 17 pounds now. why i oughtta whats wrong with these people LEAVE MY EBAY BIDS ALONE. ARGH 30 seconds to go. 6 seconds. ITS MINE woooooo but the price is too high now :( oh well is 25 quid too much to pay for a mega drive and 5 games with all the stuff? probably but who cares cause its my booty now arr. matey.
dear friends i must break some truly horrifying news to you. this statement has just been made by the hospital "it is with great sorrow that we must pronouce brain death of mr.speakandspell at 17:13 this afternoon after severe internal injuries. theres was a strange rattle. we believe his fuse may have blown. we did all we could. im sorry." so let us try to learn from this terrible tradegy and never again take mr.speakandspell for granted because deep down we all loved his lame pre generated tones and numbers. rest in pieces friend, rest in pieces. the owner and close friend of mr.speakandspell also made a statement: "not only was mr.speakandspell a good friend to all he knew, but he liked to encourage us to all speak and spell. he was an asset to society and is irreplacable (speakandspell went bankrupt a few years ago). mr.speakandspell leaves a wife and two small children; our thoughts and prayers must be with them especially, during this difficult time. those who were present would have heard mr.speakandspells final words:" "R aahh arr ....."
thanks for your time. there will be a police inquiry into this matter.
ahh ahha hhaah aahh my hair my beautiful hair what did you do it. .. i have just been attacked mby a maniac armed with scissors IN MY OWN HOME i mean its bad enough that they have shops on high streets to ensare people but invading peoples home and brutally hacking away at their heads is another thing. IN THEIR OWN HOMES i mean what is the world coming to . hair dressers are trying to talk over the world with their lame boring chit chat! run away readers, RUN AWAY. i am worried that this indy kid/1940s RAF pilot haircut will start to affect me seeing as its so close to my brain but theres no way thats going to happen. anyway im off to go start up my spitfire and put on my scarf and goggles chaps while listening to boring music that never starts and has no discernable changes within it. righto chaps remeber what winston said "never have so many hairs been cut down to so few". basically i had a haircut and havent got used to it yet. maybe the shock will wear off soon. if i cant find my flight jacket or crazy hat and googles. dashed bad luck i say. old bean,

dear diary i have decided to stop writing in you because i have found another website which tells everyone everything they need to know about my life so i have no need of you anymore. the new website is www.tom.youarelame.com thanks for your commitment brave readers but i am sad to say that this is the end of our time together. for other tom related information you can surf to www.tom.org thanks for everything and goodbye. its been emotional.
its sooooo hot here again! i mean yeah its nice and sunny but phew so hot. oh i apologise to all those who like to believe that london has no natural sunlight and all you can see is a permenant fog of pollution surrounding it, for you its a horrible day today and my gas mask has clogged up but for everyone else its beautiful (but hot) outside. sorry for slight mocking of people who moan about cities there. but ah man, so sunny. went up to the high street via the guitar shop up on the great west road and i was probably only out for an hour and a half (walking outside mostly) and by the time i got back in it was time for a shower! its hot enough to fry an egg on a bald mans head. and another thing why is it so sunny in the morning! argh i was awake at like quarter to 6 this morning and it looked like it was 11 oclock (need to get a blind methinks). sorry ive done nothing but moan about the weather (how stereotypically british of me). anyway ive finally bought some more guitar strings so i can re string my epiphone cos i somewhat embaressingly (if thats how you spell it) strung it too tight last time and i snapped a string within half an hour. it was quite shocking considering i hadnt broke a string for a year and a half (see being thin and scrawny does have advantages). dunno if i will now i cant really be bothered and i should really send it into a guitar shop to have it set up by a 'pro' but i can do it myself (just need a bit more practice but ive got bigger plans for my life than working in a guitar shop and being the old guy who knows everything about planks of wood with strings on them however cool it would be). dunno i need to do the truss rod and the bridge and all that and it takes ages and i would probably mess it up. right now i have to go twiddle my thumbs or something for 3 hours and wait for everyone to finish work :(, maybe i should get a job tho i have pretty much got one sorted i just need to ring steve H up at the mill (www.mill.co.uk). anyway have fun people and dont watch strange shows late at night on itv or channel 4. you know who you are! oh yeah i think i need a haircut so i may run a competition to design a new look for tom this summer. the winner will recieve a painting of a goat that i will create at some point in the future :) stay tuned... crisp of the day : pringles original (the red tin)
its been a beautiful day today apart from the temprature being high enough to melt micheal jackson and all. ive found that my temper is a lot shorter when its hot as everything is about 20 times more annoying when its 300 hundred degrees or so. so on this beautiful day what have i done? stayed inside all day :D well i went into the garden (read as square of grass out the back of my house) for about 3 - 4 minutes. anyway a friend from school who i hadnt seen for 9 months or so came over and we spent the afternoon recording two of his songs and one of mine. Lax came over here from nepal a couple of years ago and his english was a bit hit and miss (and it still is sometimes) so when he was saying about him singing i attempted to raise my eyebrows with some sceptism but i cant so i didnt. he was actually really good, i was well impressed. maybe i shouldnt have so many preconceptions about people (moral lesson for the day children, take note). wow i kinda sound like adam west on the old batman show, i love batman its great by the way. yeah sorry back to the point YEAH it was cool. didnt have a mike stand and attempts to wedge it on my bed didnt really work so i ended up holding it in front of his face but it was ok. he had written loads of songs over the year so we did two of them (love songs he had been 'forced' to write) bit cheesy (he likes bon jovi :S) and all but still it was cool. i had a go at singing one that i had written and it was ok but i still dont like my voice at all but i was in tune and hitting the notes so i guess thats a positive. i think its quite a good song, the words and music work quite well and my guitar playing wasnt too bad but i still dont like my voice. anyway im going to either go see bob or shane or jitan or some combination of the 3 i havent decided yet. first i might go find some food tho, quite hungry now. thought for the day : black guitars are like the new black but i like my green one as well. and the red one and the wood finish one is pretty cool as well. i like them all but i would like a blue one please :)
Sun, Jun. 13th, 2004, 11:17 pm sleep?.... nah
ive never had hay fever but im guessing that if i did then my eyes would be similar to the way they are now all summmer which wouldnt be good cos they are red and sore from lack of sleep and general tired-ness, past fast months have been knackering and i was getting fed up of uni. not sure why but i think i was sick of being so cooped up in my little cell in talybont and everything being horrible in the kitchen and avoiding my flat mates and etc. uni stuff probably didnt help, dont deal well with having to live to a timetable that someone else has perscribed. just found a mini disc with a band i saw at green belt on it, really good actually. i remeber seeing them live and they were fantastic, one guy with a piano and a gramaphone? (he also had a good singing voice as well) and another guy who was an amazing percussionist, fanastic to watch him playing. speaking of music we went to the isle of wight festival yesterday and didnt get into southampton until 4 o clock in the morning and bed was another 45 mins away so im a little tired at the mo. some good bands on, my top 3 were : british sea power (www.britishseapower.co.uk) who were great fun. came on stage with tree branches and plastic owls and herons stuck on the amps and drum kit. also a man in a bear suit came on stage at the end at which point the keyboard played escaped into the crowd and ran around and the lead guitarist hung his guitar on a camera man(!?!) and then proceeded to rugby tackle and stick a plastic heron into the bear. the lead singer decided to start jumping around and bounce his guitar off the stage and see what sounds came out. i enjoyed it very much :). number two THE WHO!!! wow how great are the who, half of them are dead and they ROCKED, on the songs that i knew. the ones that i didnt know i didnt like cos i didnt know them and they were kinda poo but yeah they were good. but my favourites were the welsh legends themselves, the mighty but vertically challenged manic street preachers. opening with a wonderfully unkown song off everything must go (first track, elvis impersonator) , played two songs off their new albums and were generally really good. would definately go see the manics again and BSP who were fun but not in the same league as the manics. the other bands were pretty poor and while i did like some things i didnt like the whole atmosphere of the place. too busy, too drunk, too disgusting (not me! the venue). oh yeah and the stupid nokia advertising! if anyone needed proof that music is best when its not on a huga scale and a sponsorship rip off fest of commercial main stream rubbish then it was YESTERDAY. argh, good to get that off my chest. sorry for the extreme lenght i have to go sleep and prepare for the nepali guitar invasion of my home tomorrow which should be loud! sleep is over-rated, go find some music!
